This Year 9 theme, “Paradigms, Cultures, & Worldview,” immerses learners in an exploration of interconnectedness, cultural paradigms, and the intricate tapestry of human identity. Students delve into the dynamics of identity and social identity, scrutinising how paradigms shape perceptions of the world and cultural identity manifests in societal behaviours and customs. Learners reflect on how to navigate the world around them without compromising their Shakhsiyah Islamiyah. Through a nuanced examination of global holidays and Islamic celebrations, they discern the underlying values and traditions that unite societies. Guided by Islamic principles, learners explore the way Islamic teachings permeate and enrich daily life, exploring the adab of interactions, marriage, and engagement with diverse communities, including non-Muslims. They analyse the impact of technology on global interactions, mindful of its potential benefits and drawbacks, while adhering to the prophetic wisdom in utilising social media. Addressing social justice issues and stereotypes, learners engage in critical dialogue and action, advocating against oppression and religious intolerance through historical insights and contemporary case studies. In this unit, learners will explore the ways in which Islam has been — and always will be — relevant to their contexts and lives .
